The Mahindra SUV Proving Track (MSPT)
If you love the Mahindra brand, you probably already know about the famous Mahindra Research Valley where all Mahindra SUVs are developed. It’s the access to this incredible testing ground that helps the brand’s developers to create amazing vehicles that can tackle the toughest terrain imaginable, while still looking red-carpet ready.
As if this was not enough, the forward-thinking C-suite behind Mahindra has now decided to open the gates to a brand-new Mahindra SUV Proving Track in Kanchipuram, in Tamil Nadu, 55km from the Research Valley that has served its R&D team so well up until now. If rumours are correct, a portion thereof will also be opened up to auto enthusiasts and speed fiends from around the globe later in 2022 …
R Velusamy, Chief of Global Product Development at Mahindra, confirmed that the track was developed and built to complement and complete the famous research valley where the rest of the brand’s products have been conceived up to date. He also noted that it’s a dream come true for the entire team within Mahindra.

Constructed across a whopping 454 acres of land at Cheyyar SIPCOT Industrial Area, and designed by IDIADA (a Spanish company renowned for their proving ground construction), the MSPT took three years to complete and feature 20 fully operational, purpose-built tracks. This includes, among many others, a 0% slope high-speed test track with a 43.7-degree parabolic banking for higher neutral speed testing.
Additionally, a 4×4 specific off-road track has been built at the MSPT to help Mahindra enthusiasts and seasoned experts alike to gain experience on adventurous terrain. It is poised to become one of the foremost technical 4×4 destinations globally, so keep an eye out to learn more if this sounds like your cup of tea.
