Mahindra KUV100 NXT
Mahindra South Africa has already beaten their sales target for 2019 and they are now aiming to reach a new record. According to reports, Mahindra is on track for a tremendous year as they continue to push out passenger vehicles and bakkies at a staggering rate.
Mahindra South Africa is one of the country’s fastest-growing brands based on the latest figures from the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa). As mentioned above, they’ve already surpassed their 2019 sales target which was 5 664 units by September.
According to Naamsa reports, the overall market for the year up until the end of September has dropped by 3.5%. The most significant decline was in the passenger vehicle market as it has dropped by 4.9% (13 468 vehicles) when compared to the same time last year.
Most notably and in contrast to the current industry norm, Mahindra has grown by 33.4% in terms of vehicle sales. That’s not all though as their parts division increased by 36% over the same period in line with new vehicle sales.
Success For Mahindra South Africa Continues
Based on statements from Mahindra CEO and a Mahindra dealer principal in Mbombela, Cas Kolbé, the future of the automaker is looking bright.
According to Cas Kolbé, “As a newbie, when Mahindra entered the market, it was met with resistance. Since then the product has gained significant traction as a result of its durability and value-for-money offering. The range has been extended. Mahindra now also offers a large countrywide dealer network. Despite the exchange rate challenges, price increases have been small and only on selected models, and this has supported and stimulated our local sales.”
Rajesh Gupta, CEO Mahindra South Africa, focused on a few more points and looked at the average sales per dealer. Not surprisingly, the overall increase is an astonishingly 24% in just the last six months which makes it abundantly clear the Mahindra brand has considerable local support. Companies often see dealer sales as the power or authority of the brand’s market strength as it represents sales to individual customers who make a conscious decision to spend their money on a specific brand.
The Standout Mahindra KUV100 NXT
Since the first KUV100 was launched in 2016 and the subsequently enhanced Mahindra KUV100 NXT, it is the fastest-growing subcompact crossover in its class. This is largely thanks to their entry-level Mahindra KUV100 K2+ offering incredible value for money. As standard, the K2 has two airbags, ABS-brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, an immobiliser and child locks for only R142 999*.
The authoritative AA-Kinsey Report identified the Mahindra KUV100 NXT as the most affordable car to service and repair within the compact crossover segment. What’s astonishing here is that this beats their closest rival by nearly R20 000 in the price of parts and components considered in their affordability study.
Further to the AA-Kinsey Report, Mahindra received more accolades from the National Automotive Dealer Association in June this year. Mahindra won a Gold Award in the Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) rankings which actually follows two years where they received Silver. This accomplishment means that Mahindra is now in the top half of the 29 vehicle brands that the NADA Awards investigates.
